APPOINTMENTS...
Your appointment is time which is especially reserved for you to receive proper care from the doctor and staff. The office extends every reasonable effort to be on time.
To make an appointment, please call the office and tell the receptionist the purpose of your visit. Provide a basic explanation about your dermatology problem. Multiple problems may require additional visits.
To cancel an appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours in advance. The receptionist will reschedule the appointment at a time that is convenient for you. We charge $50.00 for all appointments not canceled at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled time.
Emergency appointments can be made with proper respect for patients who have regular appointments. Every effort will be extended to treat emergencies while fulfilling our commitment to regular appointments.
CHILDREN IN THE OFFICE...
You are encouraged to not bring children to the office unless they have an appointment. Medical treatment is greatly improved when the doctor and patient have privacy to discuss the patient’s condition. If you must bring children, please bring someone to care for them during your treatment.
FEES AND PAYMENTS...
Our fees are reasonable and are within recommended guidelines. We deliver the finest medical care possible at as reasonable a fee to you as is feasible. Fees are based on the complexity of services provided. Discussion of fees is always welcome.
Our payment policy is to receive payment at the time of service. If this may cause problems, or if there are circumstances about which the office should be aware, simply discuss it with the receptionist. Many times an honest conversation or phone call will prevent a misunderstanding. Our office accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
INSURANCE...
Insurance is considered a method of reimbursing the patient for fees paid to the doctor and is not a substitute for payment. The office staff will assist you in receiving the maximum benefits available under your policy. Due to the complexity of health coverage, you are encouraged familiarize yourself with the requirements of your individual policy with regard to copayments and deductibles, referrals, laboratory services, etc. prior to your office visit. Please remember that the patient is fully responsible for all fees. Payment arrangements may always be made with the billing department.
TELEPHONE CALLS...
You are encouraged to call with questions about your medical condition. Our trained staff can answer most questions, or can refer you to one of our providers for additional information if necessary.
PRESCRIPTION REFILLS...
Please contact your pharmacy at least 24 hours in advance when a prescription needs to be refilled. Your pharmacist may need to contact the doctor’s office for refill authorization. Prescription refills will not be authorized without proper office treatment. As many diseases have similar symptoms, a request for a prescription may require an office examination.
MEDICAL NECESSITY...
We are happy to treat any type of skin lesion or condition you request. Many of the services we provide are done for cosmetic purposes, not for medical necessity. Treatment of lesions or conditions that have no symptoms or are not growing or changing may be considered cosmetic. Our insurance contracts require that we bill only for medically necessary services and to do otherwise is considered fraudulent. Therefore, payment for such services is expected at the time of treatment. We will gladly discuss the medical necessity of your treatment with you so that you can make an informed decision about your health care. |
